Petes fall to Hounds 4-3
The Petes travelled tgo Sault Ste. Marie on Friday night but couldn’t bring 2 points back as the Greyhounds held on to win 4-3 at the Essar Centre.
Trevor Morbeck opened the scoring for the Hounds 2:49 into the game but Austin Watson evened the game for the Petes with his 24th of the season with just 5 seconds remaining in the first period.
The Greyhounds built a 4-1 lead in the second period on goals by Morbeck at 7:26, Vern Cooper at 13:21 and Ryan Sproul at 17:27 before Lino Martschini got his 15th of the season 3:18 into the third period and Matt Puempel cut the lead to 4-3 at 7:10, but the Petes couldn’t even the score.
The Petes now travel to Sudbury for a Saturday night match up with the Wolves to close out a 3 games in 3 nights weekend.
