Petes Draft Defenseman with 3rd pick

The Peterborough Petes have selected 6’1" 190lbs defenseman Chad Lowry with their second pick in the second round of this mornings OHL Priority Selection.

Lowry is an effective all round physical defenseman who plays the game with a real edge. He possesses a vey good set of tools, has size, skates well and displays good puck skills. He is very strong on his skates, has a long smooth stride and possesses good mobility. Chad keeps his game pretty simple in the defensive zone. He is very aware of his reponsibilties.

"I am very excited to go to a proven franchise like the Petes." Says Lowry. On the ice, Lowry describes himself as an offensive defenseman and would compare himself to the style of Scott Neidermeyer.
