Keith Acton (1975-1978)
Keith came to Peterborough for the start of the 1975-1976 season, but it wasn’t until his second and third season that he saw success with the club, having two seasons with 120+ points and a trip to the Memorial Cup in 1978. Drafted by the Montreal Canadiens 103rd overall in 1978, he reported to the Nova Scotia Voyageurs of the AHL and put up 98 points in 1979-80 before making the jump to the big club. He played fifteen NHL seasons with Montreal, Minnesota, Edmonton (Stanley Cup Champion in 1988), Philadelphia, Washington and New York before finishing his playing career in 1994-95 with the Hershey Bears of the AHL. Keith played for Canada in three World Championships in 1986, 90 and 92 coming home with a bronze medal in 1986. At the end of his playing career, he began a career as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Flyers and later; the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers.
