Jack Veitch – Mental Health Coach
Jack Veitch has been involved with the Petes since 2014 as the Mental Health Coach. Veitch is a staple in the Peterborough community as he currently serves as the Manager of Community Engagement and Education with the HKPR Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association. Prior to his public role, Veitch’s primary focus was the front line, one on one work with people living with persistent mental illness and forensic case management that saw him support inmates of Central East Correctional Centre with their housing and wellness, upon release. He is celebrated across the Canadian Hockey League for developing “Talk Today,” a program aimed to promote the mental health of young athletes and to spread awareness about the benefits of positive mental health throughout communities across the country, that is delivered to all affiliated junior teams.
