IceDogs beat Petes 8-2
The Petes just didn’t have enough left in the tank as they lost their third game in three nights on Saturday night 8-2 to the Niagara IceDogs.
The IceDogs opened the scoring 11:03 into the game on a goal by Darren Archibald and built a 2-0 lead with 19 seconds remaining in the first by Ryan Strome.
Freddie Hamilton increased the IceDogs lead to 3-0 six minutes into the second period, but Austin Watson got the Petes on the board at 13:24 netting his 31st of the season, however the IceDogs added another pair of goals before the end of the period from Joel Wigle at 16:54 and Myles Doan at 18:48 taking a 5-1 lead after 40 minutes of play.
Again the Dogs scored the first goal of the period 3:11 into the third from Mitchell Theoret and Wigle added his second of the game at 4:37 and Hamilton his second of the night at 5:18. Luke Hietkamp scored his 6th of the season at 11:16 making the final 8-2 for the IceDogs.
Next action for the Petes is Thursday night when they host the Brampton Battalion at the PMC.
