Chris Pronger (1991-1993)
Pronger is another player to enjoy a hall of fame career, after coming from the Petes system. Drafted by the Hartford Whalers 2nd overall in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, he jumped right into the NHL. After two seasons with Hartford, he was traded to the St. Louis Blues and spent nine seasons with the team and helped take the Blues to the playoffs in every season he was a member of the team. He then moved on to Edmonton for one season in 2005/2006 and helped take the team to the Stanley Cup finals, where they eventually fell to the Carolina Hurricanes. He was then traded to the Anaheim Ducks, playing with the team for three seasons. Pronger won a Stanley Cup with the Ducks in 2006/2007. He then went to the Philadelphia Flyers for three seasons and once again ended up in the Stanley Cup Finals, where they fell to the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010. While Chris is under contract with the Phoenix Coyotes, he is unlikely to play again because of vision impairment and post-concussion syndrome. He has represented Canada during numerous international tournaments including the Olympics, World Championships and the World Juniors, winning World Junior gold in 1993, World Championship gold in 1997, and Olympic gold in 2002 and 2010. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015.
