Westland Insurance Community Player of the Month – Brennan Faulkner
The Peterborough Petes recipient of the Westland Insurance Community Player of the Month for March is Brennan Faulkner. Brennan was a leader in the community this month, participating in three ball hockey visits to local schools, as well as the Volt Hockey launch event at the Balsille Family YMCA.
Faulkner, a native of London, ON, is currently in his rookie season with the Petes. As a first year player, Brennan has gone above and beyond in the community. He has especially enjoyed being a part of the Petes Ball Hockey Program, teaching local youth how to play the game.
“I think it’s very important to be active members of the community,” noted Faulkner. “Especially getting into schools, we’re role models for these kids and it’s important to be a positive influence.”
Brennan also took part in the Volt Hockey launch event at the Balsille Family YMCA. Volt Hockey is an exciting accessible sport designed to create a team environment for players with a disability. Click here to learn more about Volt Hockey.
The Petes Ball Hockey Program presented by Drain Bros Excavating Limited launched one year ago and has provided free ball hockey to over 2,000 local students and counting. The Petes, in collaboration with educator ambassadors in each school, provide all necessary equipment, training, and support required to play ball hockey at no cost to each participating school.
The Petes are committed to being active members of the Peterborough community. Throughout the 2023-24 season, in partnership with Westland Insurance, the team will be highlighting a Community Player of the Month. Stay tuned to the Petes social media and website for updates each month.
