Petes Get Bit By Bulldogs in Hamilton
Chase Stillman, Tucker Robertson, and Jax Dubois scored third period goals, but it wasn’t enough as the league’s fifth highest-scoring team routed the Petes 7-3 on Sunday evening. The Petes would like to congratulate Joe Carroll on playing his 200th OHL game tonight.

The Petes didn’t have an ideal start as they were tasked with killing a five-minute penalty against the OHL’s second-ranked power play unit. Luckily for the Petes, a Bulldog was whistled for high-sticking which helped the maroon and white kill of their infraction with four-on-four hockey.
Once the Bulldogs’ penalty expired, a questionable hooking infraction against Tucker Robertson put the OHL’s second-ranked power play unit on the ice. After Jan Mysak won the faceoff for Hamilton, the puck rolled to Ryan Winterton and the Seattle Kraken prospect sent a rocket over Liam Sztuska’s shoulder, to extend his goal streak to three games.
The Petes applied pressure to the Bulldogs and nearly had numerous scoring chances, but Matteo Drobaci stood tall to keep the Petes off the board. On the other end, Sztuska, who hasn’t played since December 17, looked calm stopping 17 shots.

For the second time in the game, Peterborough had a rocky start to the period when Hamilton scored two goals just four minutes apart. Winterton scored his second of the game and Mysak netted goals to give the bad guys a comfortable 3-0 lead.
The bleeding for the Petes didn’t stop there as the Bulldogs scored three goals in the final three minutes in the second period to head into the second intermission with a six-goal lead.
The last time we played in Hamilton, we scored a lot of goals in the third period. We would like to do it again.

The Petes found a little light in this game when New Jersey Devils’ prospect Chase Stillman unleashed a hard snipe after receiving a cross-ice pass from Robertson. Emmett Sproule picked up the secondary assist on the Peterborough native’s 13th goal of the season.

After picking up momentum on Stillman’s primary assist, Robertson potted his 24th goal of the season after his shot bounced off a Bulldog in front, to cut Hamilton lead 6-2. Sproule and Donovan McCoy were credited with the assists.
The Bulldogs quickly ended the Petes momentum when Montreal Canadiens prospect Mysak banked in his second of the evening.
A short time later, Dubois scored his fourth of the season after driving to the net and tapping in the puck. Carroll picked up the only assist on the play, officially picking up a point in his 200th OHL game!
When you’re 6’3″, 198 lbs, you can out muscle anyone and that’s what Jax Dubois did for his 4th goal of the season ????????????#GoPetesGopic.twitter.com/NVOxpJQ6Y8
