Petes face Fronts, Barber Poles, and Gens
Peterborough squares off with three divisional rivals this week in two road games with a Thursday night matchup at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. The Petes first contend with East Division leader, the Kingston Frontenacs tomorrow evening. Then, the maroon and white head back home to play host to the Ottawa 67’s and conclude with a Sunday matinee against the Oshawa Generals.
The Petes have been unable to solve the Frontenacs, but the majority of their meetings have been decided by one or two goals. The last game saw the Petes strike early with a pair of goals from Chase Stillman and Emmett Sproule before Kingston rallied together for a comeback.
Peterborough and Ottawa are even in the season series at four games a piece, which means that Thursday night will certainly be an exciting hockey game. The loser of the previous meeting has won nearly every game after. Peterborough lost by one goal last time. Therefore, it’s the Petes turn to take the W.
Peterborough has a couple days of rest between Thursday’s and Sunday’s games for the Petes to prepare for their eighth meeting with Oshawa. When these clubs met the last time at the PMC, Peterborough dominated en route to a 5-2 victory. The Petes top three-point producers have outscored Oshawa’s top three. Sproule, Tucker Robertson, and J.R. Avon have 57, 50, and 41 points, respectively. On the other side, Ty Tullio, Brett Harrison, and Lleyton Moore have 53, 37, 32 points, respectively.
