McCallum Scores in Road Loss to Generals
After a tough loss on home ice that saw Owen Sound pull away in the third period last night, the Peterborough Petes hopped on the 401 to Oshawa for a Friday night battle with the rival Oshawa Generals. The new look Petes would be out for revenge after falling to the Generals 6-3 at the PMC last week. Peterborough native and former Oshawa Minor General Easton Rye would get his second career start for the Petes, looking to follow up a solid first game in Saginaw on January 6.
It was not the star the Petes were looking for on the road. Just over a minute in, the Generals would strike first on a shot by Stuart Rolofs to take a 1-0 lead. Halfway through the frame, a scramble in front left Beckett Sennecke wide open to fire the loose puck in and double the Generals lead. Late in the period, on an Oshawa power play, Calum Ritchie scored to make it 3-0 heading into the break.
The second was all Oshawa from the drop of the puck. Just a minute in, the Generals would score to make it 4-0. Five minutes later, on the power play, the Petes would finally break through and get on the board. A beautiful move from Aiden Young in the corner gave him some space to hit Braydon McCallum with a cross-crease pass. McCallum made no mistake, beating Jacob Oster for his seventh goal of the season.

Just when it looked like Peterborough had some momentum, Oshawa came right back. They would add three more goals in the period, taking a 7-1 lead into the final frame.
The Generals continued their pressure in the third period, but Easton Rye was up to the task. Rye stopped 8/8 in the period to keep Oshawa off the board. As the final buzzer sounded, the Generals would win the game by a score of 7-1.
Braydon McCallum scored the lone goal for the Petes. Aiden Young and Carson Cameron picked up an assist each.
The Petes are back in action on Saturday, January 20 when they host Owen Beck and the Saginaw Spirit for Bell Lets Talk night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the PMC.
