Peterborough will look to head into their holiday break with a victory over the Oshawa Generals tonight.
Tonight is the fourth time the divisional rivals will meet out of 12 contests this season. The Generals have an edge on the season series led, 2-1.
Oshawa has 12 goals against the Petes this season while Peterborough has scored nine goals against their biggest rivals.
Peterborough will look to stay disciplined to avoid facing off against the Generals 3rd ranked power play unit.
Petes will look to keep Edmonton Oilers prospect Ty Tullio and 2023 NHL draft prospect Calum Ritchie off the scoresheet tonight. Tullio recorded his first career OHL hat-trick last night and has a goal in his last three games. Ritchie, who is fourth in OHL rookie scoring, has five points (3G, 2A) against the maroon and white this season.
Oshawa has won their last three games while Peterborough has gone 1-2-0-0 in their last three.
Friendship set aside: Rookies Nick Lardis and Calum Ritchie (OSH) will face off against each other for the fourth time in their OHL careers. The Oakville natives played minor hockey together and were part of Hockey Canada’s Capital City Challenge championship team in Ottawa.
The Petes are without centre Mason McTavish until January 5, 2022, at the latest, as he’ll be participating in this year’s IIHF World Junior Tournament for Team Canada in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta.
