Carroll and Robertson Score in Game 2
Peterborough’s hot and early start ran out of fire as the Hamilton Bulldogs scored five unanswered goals to take a 2-0 series lead on Monday night. Michael Simpson stopped 50 shots and earned the game’s third star.
Early in the game, Shawn Spearing blocked a point shot and the puck trickled out past a pair of Bulldogs defencemen. Joe Carroll swooped up the loose puck, skated to a breakaway and sniped high on Constantini to open the scoring. Carroll’s first of the 2022 playoffs was assisted by Jax Dubois.

At the halfway point of the period, Artem Guryev was whistled for a double minor, giving Bulldogs fans something excited to look forward to on the powerplay. Little did they know that the Petes’ penalty-killing unit was first in the OHL and CHL with 19 shorthanded goals this season.
A bouncing puck in the Petes zone was picked up by Sproule and he went down the boards with Tucker Robertson. He then sauced a pass to the 2022 NHL Draft prospect, who made no mistake and buried the feed. Defenceman Konnor Smith picked up the secondary helper on the play.

Just before the period expired, the Bulldogs scored two goals to tie things up. Giordano Biondi and Logan Morrison scored their first of the hockey game, neither leaving any chance for Simpson.
In a gritty, penalty-filled second period, Hamilton doubled their lead after Gavin White and Logan Morrison (second of the game), pulled the Bulldogs ahead.
Early in the third period, Morrison completed his hat-trick after beating Simpson’s glove to extend their lead to five.
Peterborough returns to home ice this week for Games 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Thursday night at 7:00 pm!
