ERIE OTTERS ACQUIRE FORMER #2 OVERALL PICK PANO FIMIS FROM NIAGARA
Erie, Pennsylvania – New year, new player for the Erie Otters as the team makes a New Year’s Day trade with the Niagara IceDogs.
Erie Otters General Manager Dave Brown announced today that the team acquired second-year forward Pano Fimis from the IceDogs in exchange for the following Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection Draft picks: Erie’s 2nd & Windsor’s 3rd in 2024, Oshawa’s 2nd & Hamilton’s 3rd in 2025, and Peterborough’s 2nd in 2026.
Drafted #2 overall in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection Draft by Niagara, Pano Fimis comes to the Otters with solid offensive numbers as a highly-skilled centerman. Playing in 82 games during the 2021-22, 2022-23 seasons, the 5’11”, 176 lbs. right-handed forward has posted 68 points (22G+46A) alongside eight power play goals and a game-winning goal. This season in Niagara, Fimis served as an Alternate Captain and was the IceDogs’ leading-scorer, posting 24 points (8G+16A) in 28 games played.
