Jason Robertson named OHL’s First Star – March 14th, 2019
1ST STAR: JASON ROBERTSON (NIAGARA ICEDOGS):
Dallas Stars prospect Jason Robertson climbed into the OHL scoring lead with two goals and two assists as the Niagara IceDogs defeated visiting Mississauga 4-2. Robertson increased his production to 110 points (45-65–110), two ahead of Sault Ste. Marie’s Morgan Frost. Robertson played in his 250th career regular season game, a span that has seen him put up a total of 310 points (146-164–310) between Niagara and Kingston. The 19-year-old from Northville, Mich. has recorded four points or more in 12 different games this season. Robertson earned silver with the United States at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. He was Dallas’ second round pick in 2017.

2ND STAR: JUSTIN BRAZEAU (NORTH BAY BATTALION):
North Bay Battalion captain Justin Brazeau kept the goals coming on Thursday, scoring his 59th and 60th of the season as the Troops defeated the visiting Hamilton Bulldogs 3-1. Brazeau becomes just the third North Bay OHL player to score 60 goals in a season, fittingly joining Nick Kypreos (1985-86) and Vitali Yachmenev (1993-94) on North Bay Centennials Night at the Memorial Gardens. Brazeau’s 60 goals are a Battalion single season franchise record as the 21-year-old from New Liskeard, Ont. now leads the league in goals. A former 13th round pick by the Battalion in 2014, Brazeau has points in eight of his last nine games.

3RD STAR: BARRETT HAYTON (SAULT STE. MARIE GREYHOUNDS):
Arizona Coyotes prospect Barrett Hayton scored an overtime winner in his return to the lineup as the Soo Greyhounds took a 2-1 victory in Saginaw. Hayton finished with a goal and an assist in his first action since Feb. 19th as he continued a six-game point streak. The 18-year-old from Peterborough, Ont. has 62 points (23-39–62) over 38 games this season. He represented Canada at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Vancouver, BC. Hayton was Arizona’s first round (5th overall) pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.
