IceDogs Head to Mississauga to Take On the Steelheads
The Niagara IceDogs are on the road tonight as they take on the Mississauga Steelheads for the first time this season. The IceDogs will be looking to build off the momentum they’ve generated from the past few close games. Last season, Mississauga and Niagara split their season series 3-3, and the ‘Dogs will be looking to get the early lead.
The first instalment of this Central Division rivalry features two players that are expected to compete hard for places on Team Canada at World Juniors this December, Graham Knott and Michael McLeod. Knott, a Chicago Blackhawks prospect, and McLeod, a New Jersey Devils prospect, are both skilled power forwards that play critical roles on their respective teams. The IceDogs defence will need to contain McLeod, as his explosive speed and puckhandling skills can be dangerous in the offensive zone. Knott will be looking to wreak havoc with his larger frame in front of the Mississauga net, and get his team another tick in the win column.
Fans can catch the game televised on Cogeco TV Niagara or listen live on 610 CKTB, the IceDogs radio network. Puck drop’s at 7pm!
Niagara: 3-7-0 (6 points)
Mississauga: 4-6-0 (8 points)
