IceDogs Conclude Road Trip Tonight in Sudbury
The Niagara IceDogs are headed north to conclude their three-game road trip tonight, visiting Sudbury Community Arena for the third, and final time this season.
Last night, the IceDogs’ losing streak came to a halting end with a massive 6-3 win against over the Barrie Colts. Captain Ivan Lodnia’s four-point performance and Andrew MacLean’s 37 saves, kicked off the biggest weekend of the season, to date, on an excellent footing to re-gain the confidence they need against the top team in the division.
The IceDogs are expected to be without Cam Peters, who continues to battle a lower-body injury.
The Central Division-leading Wolves continue to be without their leading scorer and 2020 NHL Top Prospect, Quinton Byfield due to injury; the Newmarket native’s 74 points (32G, 42A), rank twelfth in league scoring. The IceDogs are likely to face goaltender David Bowen, who has a career goals-against average of 2.37, and a .926 save percentage in seven appearances.
Niagara, who currently holds a two-point advantage over Kingston for the Eastern Conference final playoff position. Have seen timely contributions from first-year players, aid in the club’s push for the playoffs. 2019 first-round pick (17th overall) defenceman Isaac Enright has been a stabilizing force on the blueline. Consistently, developing the Cobden, ON native recorded points (2A) in consecutive games for the first time in his OHL career, with assists in last Sunday’s game in Guelph and last night in Barrie.
