IceDogs Drop Battle Against Petes
NIAGARA, ON – The Niagara IceDogs fell short of achieving two points Sunday afternoon, falling to (25-13-2-1) on the season, after a 5-2 loss against the Peterborough Petes.
The IceDogs got off to a very slow start, with no goals through the first 40 minutes of play. Coming out flat from the moment the puck dropped resulted in five unanswered Peterborough goals, spanning two periods.
Niagara allowed breakaway opportunities aplenty and simply did not look like the same team that was victorious against Sudbury on Friday night.
There was a silver lining in the third period when Andrei Loshko scored two back-to-back goals within a few minutes of one another – both assisted by Mike Levin, to cut the lead to 5-2. Unfortunately, it was too little too late for Niagara by that point.
The IceDogs are back in action on Saturday, January 18th against the North Bay Battalion at Meridian Centre at 7:00 pm.
