Hounds Announce Affiliation

The Soo Greyhounds are pleased to announce that the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League will be the club's main affiliate team for the 2004/2005 season. The Greyhounds will use the affiliation to develop some of their prospects and prepare them for the OHL.

“We are excited about the opportunity of working with the Soo Thunderbirds”, said Hounds General Manager Dave Torrie. “We will be able to closely monitor our top prospects.”  Soo Thunderbirds Director of Hockey Operations, Alan Jones said, “The affiliation will benefit both teams.  We will work hard together to help both clubs be successful.”

The two teams will work closely on hockey operations as well as business development. The T-Birds begin their 2004/2005 training camp Saturday August 28th at the Rhodes Arena. The Hounds start their camp on Wednesday September 1st at Memorial Gardens.
