Sandin becomes a Leaf in Round One (2018 NHL Entry Draft)
For the second time of the first round, a member of the Soo Greyhounds was selected tonight at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft from American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Soo Greyhounds’ defenceman RASMUS SANDIN was selected, with the 29th overall pick of the 1st Round by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Sandin, a native of Uppsala, SWE is coming off his freshman season as a member of the Hounds.
The 5.11, 190-lb rearguard joined the Hounds in late October and went on to play in 51 regular season games recording 12 goals and 33 assists, good for 45 points.
He added 13 points (1g, 12a) in 24 post-season games.
He was rated 11th in the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings for North American skaters.
