2026 1st-Rounder Jaden Licastro signs with Soo Greyhounds

Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced today that 2026 first-round pick Jaden Licastro has signed an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the club.
The Bolton, ON product was selected 12th overall in this past June’s Priority Selection.
“Jaden is a player we were really excited to add on draft day, so getting him signed is an important step for both him and our organization. He had a strong camp and continued to take steps throughout our exhibition schedule, showing the qualities we liked when we selected him in the first round,” started Raftis.
He then added, “He’s a constant competitor who can skate, defend and make plays in all three zones, and we believe he has the versatility to play in a lot of different situations as he develops. He has a great foundation, and his eagerness to learn and get better really stands out. We’re excited to have him as a Greyhound and look forward to helping him take the next steps.”
Licastro appeared in 32 regular season games last season (2025-26) as Captain of the Toronto Malboros U16 AAA where he recorded 11 goals and 19 assists, good for 30 points as the highest scoring defenceman.
He had 2 points (2A) with the Malboros at the OHL Cup.
This past July the 6.02, 156-lb defender he was one of 31 prospects invited to Canada’s National Under-17 Development Camp.
