2nd Round; Timmins selected by Avalanche
As the 2017 NHL Entry Draft began Day 2, it didn’t take long for a member of the Soo Greyhounds to hear their name called.
Greyhounds’ defenceman CONOR TIMMINS was the first selection Saturday morning, the 1st pick of the 2nd Round (32nd overall) by the Colorado Avalanche.
Timmins, a native of Thorold ON is coming off his second season as a member of the Hounds.
In 67 regular season games played the right shooting defenceman notched 7 goals and 54 assists (good for 61 points) as the team’s leading scoring defenceman.
He added 8 points in 11 post-season games.
Earlier this week he was among seven Hounds who will head to Calgary later this summer. He will vie for a spot on Team Canada’s National Junior team.
