IMPORT DRAFT; Hounds select Nick Malik in 2019 CHL Import Draft

With their 1st Round Selection (50th overall) in the 2019 CHL Import Draft, Soo Greyhounds GM Kyle Rafits made his lone selection of the day from Czech Republic.
Goaltender NICK MALIK was chosen from the Czech2 league.
The 6.02, 180-lb netminder split this past season where he played where he appeared in 26 games for HC Frydek-Mistek posting a 3.05 GAA and .903 SV% and 6 games with the HC Ocelari Trinec U19 where he had 6 games with a 2.41 GAA and .932 SV%.
Malik represented the Czech Republic at the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge this past season playing in three games to go along with a 2.73 GAA and .912 SV%.
He is a top prospect eligible for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
The Greyhounds will not make a selection in Round 2.
