TOBIAS LINDBERG SIGNS ENTRY-LEVEL CONTRACT WITH THE OTTAWA SENATORS
The Ottawa Senators announced today that the club has signed forward Tobias Lindberg to a three-year entry-level contract.
The 19-year-old completed his first season in the Ontario Hockey League with the Generals, registering 78 points (32 goals, 46 assists) and a plus/minus rating of +33 in 68 regular season games. He also skated in 20 playoff games to help the Generals win the OHL Championship and qualify for, before ultimately winning, the MasterCard Memorial Cup. He registered five points (three goals, two assists), in four games at the Memorial Cup and added an assist on the overtime winning goal in Oshawa’s 2-1 win over Kelowna in the final game.
“That’s great news,” says Oshawa Generals Vice-President and General Manager, Roger Hunt. “We drafted Tobias to make him an Ottawa Senator. We wish Tobias all the best on his North American Pro Career.”
The Stockholm native, and 6’2”, 212-pound winger, ranked third among Generals in regular-season scoring while finishing the 2014-15 season tied for 19th among all OHL players in points. He also registered 21 multi-point contests which included eight three-point games and 19 post-season points (seven goals, 12 assists).
Lindberg was drafted in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft and will participate in his third Senators’ development camp later this summer. The Oshawa Generals wish Tobias all the best in the future.
