Round 3 Game 7: Generals win Bobby Orr Trophy
Oshawa, Ont., – The Oshawa Generals are the OHL Eastern Conference Champions.
Oshawa took down the North Bay Battalion 6-1 in Game Seven of the Conference Championships as they advanced to the OHL Finals.
Dylan Roobroeck had a big game, scoring twice and grabbing an assist, while Jacob Oster was in net stopping 24 of the five shots he faced.
The Generals broke the deadlock in Game Seven, as it was Roobroeck winning a faceoff clean to David Bedkowski who fired a shot from the point that found its way through traffic and into the back of the net for a 1-0 Gens lead.
Oshawa would add to that lead around halfway through the second as Rasmus Kumpulainen kept and shot on a 2-on-1 beating Mike McIvor and making it 2-0 Gens.
That lead would expand again just four minutes later as Stuart Rolofs found Connor Lockhart who made no mistake burying his sixth of the postseason as the Gens took a 3-0 lead.
To start the third period, Oshawa kept the pressure on as Roobroeck skated in and took a shot that found the back of the net as the lead grew to 4-0.
North Bay would get one back before Roobroeck and Ethan Toms each buried empty net goals putting the game to rest.
