Eight Generals to Take Part in NHL Prospect Tournaments
With upcoming NHL prospect tournaments about to get into full swing, the Generals have eight players who will be making the trips to various tournaments across Canada and the United States.
Jack Studnicka (Boston’s 2nd round, 53rd overall pick) and Gens goalie Kyle Keyser (who received an invite) will be at Boston’s 2017 Prospects Challenge from September 8th-11th at the HarborCenter in Buffalo. Boston will compete against New Jersey, Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Keyser and Studnicka will see a friendly face in one of their opponents as Alex Di Carlo received an invite to the Prospects Challenge by way of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Generals forward Domenico Commisso received an invite to participate in the tournament with the Minnesota Wild. Minnesota will compete in the Traverse City, Michigan Prospect Tournament held September 8th-12th. The Wild are slated to be in the Ted Lindsay division who will compete against Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues. This will see another Generals teammate battle as Sean Allen will suit up for the St. Louis Blues.
One other General will see the ice in this tournament in the Gordie Howe division. Eric Henderson has been invited to the tournament by the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks will compete against the Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit Red Wings and the New York Rangers.
Defenseman Matt Brassard will head west to Vancouver’s tournament. The Young Stars classic will kick off this Friday at the South Okanagan Events center with the Canucks facing the Calgary Flames, Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers.
Riley Stillman is slated to play in Florida’s prospects tournament at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida against the Washington Capitals, Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning running September 9th-12th. Stillman was drafted by the Panthers in the 4th round, 114th overall in 2016 NHL Draft.
