Boone Jenner Selected for Team Canada
The Oshawa Generals former captain Boone Jenner has been announced as one of the forwards for Team Canada at the upcoming IIHF Men’s World Championships in Russia.
Jenner is coming off of a career year with the Columbus Blue Jackets in the NHL, setting highs in goals (30), assists (19) and points (49). The 22-year-old Dorchester, ON native was also named an assistant captain for the Blue Jackets before the 2015-16 season.
This will be the fourth time that Jenner has represented Canada on the international stage, with one U17 and two U20 appearances under his belt. Look for him to also compete for a roster spot on the North American team for the 2016 World Cup taking place in Toronto in September.
