Generals can’t tie it late in 2-1 loss to 67’s
Oshawa, Ont., – The Oshawa Generals fall 2-1 to the Ottawa 67’s as they currently ride a three-game losing streak.
Despite outshooting the 67’s 42-23 the Gens were only able to beat Max Donoso once as they fall to 3-6 in one-goal games
After both teams took most of the first to feel each other out the Ottawa 67’s found a way to break the deadlock when Frankie Marrelli knocked a loose puck into the net making it 1-0 67’s with just over a minute to go in the first.
It was not until the third period that the 67’s would double their lead after Cooper Foster picked up a rebound and buried his sixth goal of the season making it 2-0 Ottawa.
The Gens had an answer though, Connor Lockhart picked the puck up in the corner making a nice pass through the crease to Roobroeck who made no mistake tapping the puck in and cutting the lead to 2-1 Ottawa.
Just a couple of minutes later the Gens would seemingly tie things up, after a mad scramble in front of the net a goal was called but after video replay the call was overturned and the Generals still found themselves trailing by one.
