The Road Ahead: December 7 – December 9
The Brantford Bulldogs embark on their second 3-in-3 of the season beginning on Thursday night with the Bulldogs third and final trip of the season to the legendary Memorial Centre in Peterborough for the 4th overall meeting of the season with the Petes. The weekend tour of legendary arenas continues Friday night as the Bulldogs make their only trip of the season to “The Aud” in Kitchener followed by hosting the second half of the home & home on Saturday at the Civic Centre against the Rangers.
On Thursday night the Bulldogs will look to bump a pair of recent trends against the Petes, having gone 0-1-2-0 on the season against the maroon & white while dropping their previous two trips to Peterborough in overtime on October 14th & November 12th.
Ben Bujold & Patrick Thomas have led the Bulldogs in scoring against the Petes on the season, each posting three assists in three games, while Nick Lardis leads a group of five Bulldogs who have each posted a pair of points in games against the Petes on the season. Tomas Hamara & Ben Bujold co-lead the Bulldogs as +4’s on the season against Peterborough.
On Friday night, the Bulldogs begin a home & home set with the Kitchener Rangers, marking the only games the Highway-24 rivals will contest on the season with one another. The rematch comes exactly 24-hours later at the Civic Centre on Saturday night in what should be the loudest night yet for Brantford fans.
The Rangers are off to a spectacular start largely led by the offensive prowess of Carson Rehkopf who leads the OHL in both goals, 30, and points, 51, in 29 games. Rehkopf is likely to see a heavy dose of Team Canada World Junior camp-mate Jorian Donovan and former Ranger Tomas Hamara on the Bulldogs blueline.
The last time the Bulldogs and Rangers collided was on Family Day, March 20th, 2023, when the Bulldogs shut out the Rangers 4-0 in Hamilton. Patrick Thomas had a pair of assists in the game while the Bulldogs shutout came courtesy of now Rangers netminder Tristan Malbouef.
All three of the Bulldogs games this weekend will be seen on Rogers TV20 and heard on the Bulldogs Audio Network.
