BRANTFORD BULLDOGS FALL TO KINGSTON FRONTENACS 2-4
BRANTFORD, ONTARIO. The Brantford Bulldogs battled hard, but ultimately fell short to the Kingston Frontenacs at home in a 4-2 loss.
The Bulldogs and Camden McCuaig (#20) wasted no time getting on the board, with McCuaig opening the scoring just 1:24 into the game, collecting his third overall goal of the season, assisted by David Buchman (#71) and Cullen McCrate (#53). The Frontenacs were quick to respond, with Tomas Pobezal (#10) tying the game 1-1 at 4:00, assisted by Vann Williamson (#27) and Alex Misiak (#86). Kingston would then take the lead over Brantford 2-1 at 12:00, with a goal scored by Alex Misiak (#86), assisted by Tomas Pobezal (#10) and Landon Wright (#36). Although the Frontenacs outshot the Bulldogs 10-7 within the period, G Chase Petrova (#30) turned aside 8 of 10 SOG to keep the Bulldogs within a one goal reach heading into the first intermission.
Brantford started the second, and stayed tough throughout the period, but Kingston would be the one to score the lone goal of the period. At 10:50, Tomas Pobezal (#10) would score to now give the Frontenacs a two-goal lead on the Bulldogs, assisted by Gavin Christie (#13) and Alex Misiak (#86). SOG were close once again throughout this period, at an 11-9 ratio in Kingston’s favour, however G Chase Petrova (#30) was solid with 10 saves, still allowing enough room for the Bulldogs to hopefully catch-up successfully in the third.
Entering the third with the Bulldogs trailing by two goals, Jack Torr (#11) would strike to cut the deficit 3-2, scoring his fourth of the season at 5:24, assisted by Jack Good (#63) and Noah Lapointe (#22). However, Kingston would respond just over three minutes later at 8:57, when Robin Kuzma (#91) would score to set the Frontenacs up at another two-goal lead, assisted by André Mondoux (#25). The Bulldogs matched the Frontenacs at 10-10 SOG throughout the third period, however Brantford was unable to close Kingston’s lead, and fell 4-2 with the final score.
The Brantford Bulldogs will look to bounce back on Thanksgiving Sunday, tomorrow October 11th when the Ottawa 67’s visit TD Civic Centre at 2:00pm.
