WHITE & DONOVAN SELECTED IN 2022 NHL DRAFT
Hamilton Bulldogs defensemen Gavin White and Jorian Donovan each had their OHL Championship seasons get even better on Friday as both heard their names announced on Day 2 of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Gavin White:
In the 4th round with the 115th overall selection the Dallas Stars took the opportunity to welcome Gavin White to their organization. From Brockville, Ontario, White has written himself a tremendous story in the Ontario Hockey League. After being selected 47th overall in the 2019 U18 Priority Selection Draft, White had an outstanding 2021-22 season setting himself second all time for single season defensive scoring by a Bulldog with 10 goals & 46 assists for 56 points in 66 games helping the Bulldogs to their best season in franchise history. White added another 2 goals & 7 assists for 9 points while appearing in all 19 playoff games, including scoring the Game 4 overtime winner against the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL Finals. White will join fellow Bulldogs blueline products in Ben Gleason and regular defense partner Artem Grushnikov in the Stars organization.
Jorian Donovan:
Like father, like son, Jorian Donovan will begin his professional career where his father, Shean Donovan, ended his (and began his OHL career) with his selection, 136th overall in the 5th round, to the Ottawa Senators. Donovan, from Richmond, Ontario, just outside of Ottawa, was the Bulldogs 1st round pick, 6th overall, in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection Draft and skated in his rookie season in 2021-22. Skating in 64 games on the season, Donovan posted 3 goals and 19 assists for 22 points, Donovan impressed with both his skill and character standing out and leading to his selection to the 2022 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. Adding another goal and 2 assists for 3 points in 13 playoff games in helping the Bulldogs capture the franchise’s second OHL Championship, Donovan will have an opportunity to play an even bigger part of the 2022-23 Hamilton Bulldogs.
