Ottawa 67’s Sign 2025 Draft Pick Lucas Balanyk

OTTAWA – The Ottawa 67’s announced today that forward Lucas Balanyk has signed an Ontario Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement with the club.

“Lucas is a shifty and clever winger, who has made an impact in each opportunity presented to him since his Priority Selection” said General Manager Jan Egert. “Lucas loves hockey and competition, and we are looking forward to supporting his development this season with the Toronto Patriots”.

Balanyk, 17, was selected by the 67’s 227th overall in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection. The Toronto, Ontario, native recorded 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points in 28 games with the Toronto Titans U18 AAA last season, before adding 12 points (nine goals, three assists) in 11 playoff contests. He also represented the Titans at the TCQ-O tournament, where he registered five goals and four assists for nine points in seven games.

Balanyk joined the 67’s for the 2026 Training Camp, scoring twice as a member of the winning Team White during the three-game intra-squad tournament. He carried that production into preseason action, scoring two goals in his lone appearance with the Barber Poles.

OTTAWA – Les 67 d’Ottawa ont annoncé aujourd’hui que l’attaquant Lucas Balanyk avait signé un contrat de bourse et de développement de la Ligue de hockey de l’Ontario (OHL) avec le club.

« Lucas est un ailier agile et astucieux, qui a su se démarquer à chaque occasion qui s’est présentée à lui depuis son repêchage prioritaire », a déclaré le directeur général Jan Egert. « Lucas adore le hockey et la compétition, et nous avons hâte de l’accompagner dans son développement cette saison avec les Patriots de Toronto. »

Balanyk, âgé de 17 ans, a été sélectionné par les 67’s au 227e rang lors du repêchage prioritaire de l’OHL de 2025. Originaire de Toronto, en Ontario, il a inscrit 12 buts et 19 passes pour un total de 31 points en 28 matchs avec les Titans de Toronto U18 AAA la saison dernière, avant d’ajouter 12 points (neuf buts, trois passes) en 11 rencontres de play-offs. Il a également représenté les Titans lors du tournoi TCQ-O, où il a inscrit cinq buts et délivré quatre passes, pour un total de neuf points en sept matchs.

Balanyk a rejoint les 67’s pour le camp d’entraînement 2026, marquant deux buts en tant que membre de l’équipe blanche victorieuse lors du tournoi intra-équipe de trois matchs. Il a confirmé cette efficacité lors des matchs de pré-saison, marquant deux buts lors de sa seule apparition avec les Barber Poles.
