The Barber Poles have been resting since their 2-1 shootout loss in London on Sunday afternoon. Logan Hawrey scored in the first period, which was the only marker until the 13-minute mark of the third period, when Will Gerrior tied the game at one. Jaeden Nelson stopped four of the six London shooters in the shootout, but the Knights came away with the win.
In his past four games, Nic Whitehead has three points, while Henry Mews has continued his torrid pace with 13 points in his past seven games.
The Petes hosted the Knights on Thursday night, falling 6-0. Easton Rye made 32 saves. One of the Petes’ two victories came last Saturday, beating the North Bay Battalion 4-1.
The 67’s and Petes are yet to meet this year. Last season, Ottawa won five of eight matchups.
What they’re saying
Norm Milley, Assistant Coach, on the month before the Christmas break: “They can handle it two ways. They check out a little bit early and just look for that break, or they can grind. Our leadership group will push to grind to that break, and as a group, we’re going to have to manage that and make sure we look at things the right way, just hammer through it.”

Keys to the game
- Respect
Anyone can beat anyone on any given night. The 67’s have to be ready for a battle tonight.
- Poise
Matchups with the Petes usually get pretty chippy. Stay focused on the task at hand, and don’t get sucked into the extracurriculars.
- Finish
Battle until the end and take advantage of scoring chances. Don’t leave the door open by even a crack.
