One last game before the break for the 67’s
For one last time before the holiday break, it’s an Ottawa 67’s (13-11-2-5) game day, as they’re in Kitchener for their first meeting of the 2024-25 season with the Rangers (22-7-2-1).
Puck drop from the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium is at 7 p.m. and fans can follow along on Rogers TV and CHLTV, or hear Kenny Walls’ call on TSN 1200.
The 67’s took a 4-3 shootout loss to the Peterborough Petes last night, but put a point in the bank after being down 3-1 midway through the third period. Will Gerrior scored a pair, and Henry Mews potted the other for the Barber Poles. Brady Stonehouse picked up a pair of helpers, as well.
Gerrior now has goals in each of his last four games, and six goals in his last six games. Chris Barlas is also riding a three-game point streak.
The Rangers have loved their 3-2 scorelines in their past four games, winning two and losing two by the exact same score. On Wednesday, they fell to the Sarnia Sting on the road, after scoring the first two goals of the game early on. The Sting roared back, and polished off their comeback with a goal from Easton Wainwright with five minutes to play.
Jack Pridham has been a force for the Rangers since signing 13 games ago. He has at least a point in all but three of his games, and currently has nine goals.
It’s the first meeting of the season for Ottawa and Kitchener. Last year, the season series was split, and in the past five years, all six meetings have been won by the home side.
