67’s face off with Kitchener in weekend finale
With eyes on a third straight victory, Sunday afternoon, the Ottawa 67’s face perhaps their toughest test of the season.
In the finale of a three-in-three road set, Ottawa’s opponent is the Kitchener Rangers; also winners of two straight, and the Ontario Hockey League’s top team. Puck drop is slated for 2:00pm from The Aud, with fans able to watch locally on Rogers TV, stream on CHL TV, or hear Kenny Walls on the call for TSN 1200.
A five-goal second period was the difference for the 67’s yesterday, who came away with a 6-4 win over the Owen Sound Attack. Braeden Kressler scored twice, along with goals from Henry Mews, Jacob Maillet, Chris Barlas, and Caden Kelly. Ian Michelone made 31 saves, in his Barber Poles debut.
The Rangers have been off since Friday, after laying a 6-2 beating on the Erie Otters at home. Three goals from Carson Rehkopf, two from Matthew Sop, and another from Adrian Misaljevic gave Kitchener all the firepower they needed, in a 21-save victory for Tristan Malboeuf.
