Sting make only visit to Ottawa
The Ottawa 67’s (9-10-2-4) are looking to get back into the win column on Friday night, when they welcome the Sarnia Sting (8-15-2-4) inside The Arena at TD Place for a 7 p.m. puck drop. Great tickets are still available here.
If you’re not at the rink, you can see the game on Rogers TV or on CHLTV, and you can hear Kenny Walls’ call on TSN 1200.
Everything you need to know about your trip to TD Place can be found here.
The Barber Poles have dropped their last two contests against tough opposition, falling 10-3 to the defending OHL champion London Knights last Sunday, and 8-4 to the defending Bobby Orr Trophy winners, the Oshawa Generals. Prior to that, the 67’s had earned at least a point in 10 of their last 12 games.
Last time out, both Henry Mews and Nic Whitehead got on the scoresheet twice.
The Sting started their Eastern Ontario road trip on Thursday night with a stop in Peterborough for the Petes’ Teddy Bear Toss. Holding a 1-0 lead until midway into the third period, Blake Gowan levelled the score for the maroon and white, before Aiden Young put them in the lead. Tyson Doucette scored his second of the game to send it to overtime, but Sarnia couldn’t finish with a win.
Doucette now has five points in his past four games, including four goals.
On November 22nd, the Sting got the better of the Barber Poles in the shootout, winning their only other meeting of the year 5-4.
