The trading period ended today in the QMJHL
LONGUEUIL, Saturday January 8th 2005 (QMJHL) The trading period involving student athletes in the Québec Major Junior Hockey League ended today at noon. Here are the nine transactions that were confirmed by the QMJHL today.
Trade between Halifax and Victoriaville
First of all, the Victoriaville Tigres traded goaltender Jeremy Duchesne to the Halifax Mooseheads, in exchange for the Mooseheads’ 5th round pick choice of the 2006 entry draft.
After 15 games with the Tigres this season, Duchesne (86-10-17) had maintained a saving percentage of 0.893, an average of 3.46, as well as a record of 2 wins, 9 losses and 0 tie game.
Trade between Chicoutimi and Victoriaville
The Victoriaville Tigres traded right-winger Justin Bélanger to the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. In return, the Saguenéens traded defenseman Gabriel Houde-Brisson to the Tigres.
In 32 games with the Tigres this season, Bélanger (85-11-01) registered 5 goals (including 1 power play goal) and 6 assists, as well as a total of 46 penalty minutes. This season, his plus/minus rating was at -9.

Trade between Acadie-Bathurst and Victoriaville

In 27 games with the Mooseheads this season, Munden (86-11-10) registered 5 goals (including 2 winning goals) and 3 assists, as well as a total of 12 penalty minutes. This season, his plus/minus rating was at +9.
Trade between P.E.I. and Québec
The P.E.I. Rocket traded goaltender Jonathan Boutin to the Québec Remparts. In return, the Remparts traded defenseman Louis-Philippe Lachance and goaltender Jean-François Bernard, as well as their 2nd round pick choice of the 2005 entry draft, to the Rocket.
After 32 games with the Rocket this season, Boutin (85-03-28) maintained a saving percentage of 0.898, an average of 3.24, as well as a record of 15 wins, 14 losses and 2 tie games.

Trade between Lewiston and Rouyn-Noranda
As for the Lewiston MAINEiacs, they traded defenseman Travis Mealy, as well as their 6th round pick choice at the 2005 entry draft, to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. In return, the Huskies traded defenseman Sébastien Piché and their 10th round pick choice of the 2005 entry draft to the MAINEiacs.

Trade between Gatineau and Moncton
Finally, the Moncton Wildcats traded right-winger Luke Pelham to the Gatineau Olympiques, in return for the Olympiques’ 3rd round pick choice of the 2005 entry draft.
In 13 games with the Wildcats this season, Pelham (84-10-29) scored 3 goals (including 1 power play goal) and added 3 assists, for a total of 6 points. His plus/minus rating was at +3 and he totalled 43 penalty minutes before being exchanged.
