In the last period, Alex MacDonald (Kabbaj & Courtemanche) ensured the Olympiques’ lead when he scored on Alex Dubeau. Michaël Bournival (Zlobin & Ellis) scored the second goal for Shawinigan.
The game ended in a turmoil, whereas several brawls burst out on the same sequence. The contact between Peter Sakaris and François Lacerte launched the hostilities. Garrett Clarke came to the defence of his goalie right away. A general brawl followed whereas all the players on the ice dropped their gloves. Adam Janosik, Taylor Burke, Garrett Clarke, Emile Poirier and Adam Chapman for the Olympiques and Michaël Bournival, Anton Zoblin, Michael Chaput, Peter Sakaris and Morgan Ellis for the Cataractes.
