The disciplinary committee imposes a suspension to Alexandre Vachon of Val-d’Or

BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, September 20th, 2005 (QMJHL) The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's disciplinary committee imposed a five game suspension today, to Val-d'Or Foreurs left-winger Alexandre Vachon. Additionally, as per League rules, an automatic one game suspension will be enforced.

The suspension follows an incident that occurred on September 18th, in a contest opposing the Foreurs to the Tigres in Victoriaville, in which Mr. Vachon was caught throwing a punch to the face of forward Keven Guérette-Charland after the stoppage in play.

Before rendering their decision, the disciplinary committee reviewed the video sequence of the incident and consulted all concerned parties. The suspension is in effect as of today.

In accordance with the QMJHL's policy in the matter of disciplinary sanctions, the disciplinary committee will not be available for further comment.
