Suspension imposed to Pierre-Marc Bouchard
(Longueuil, Thursday September 5, 2002)-The Québec Major Junior Hockey
League Disciplinary Prefect, Mr Maurice Filion, announced this afternoon
a suspension of seven games to centre player Pierre-Marc Bouchard from the
Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
On Tuesday August 27, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens were playing against the
Drakkar in Baie-Comeau. During that pre-season game, centre player Pierre-Marc
Bouchard got a major game misconduct penalty for cross-checking to the face
player Ryan James Hand (2-25, 4-25).
After watching the tape and reading the referee’s report, the Disciplinary
Prefect imposed a suspension of 7 games to Bouchard. Again this season, the
QMJHL wants to stop that kind of gesture totally inappropriate and dangerous.
The suspension will be effective on Friday, September 13, 2002 for the first
game of the regular season of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
