Sidney Crosby and Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers are the PLAYERS of the MONTH of MARCH in the QMJHL
(LONGUEUIL, Monday March 22, 2004) -The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced today its offensive, defensive and rookie players of the month of March 2004.
The Rimouski Oceanic talented centre player Sidney Crosby is both the offensive and rookie player par excellence of the month in the Courteau circuit. During the last five games of the regular season played in March, Crosby scored four goals, collected 12 assists for a total of 16 points and a differential of +9.
The solid Chicoutimi Sagueneens goaltender Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers receives the honours as defensive player of the month in the QMJHL. The left-handed goaltender born in St-Jean-sur-le-Richelieu tended the goal five times in March and got four wins, no loss and no tie. Drouin-Deslauriers maintained a 1.42 goal-against average and a 0.956 save percentage, and he received and average of 32.3 shots per game.
Sidney Crosby and Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers also had the honours of the last week of the 2003-2004 regular season of the QMJHL.
