He ends the season with 66 goals and 102 assists for a total of 168 points, and he becomes the 3rd player in the QMJHL to win 2 consecutive leading scorer awards, after Jean-François Sauvé (1978-1979 & 1979-1980) and Guy Rouleau (1984-1985 & 1985-1986).
Crosby also became the 3rd player to be given a leading scorer trophy with more than 50 points ahead of his closer opponent. He ends the season with 168 points, 54 points ahead from his teammate Dany Roussin (114). The Océanic ends its regular season ranking 1st in the general standings which entitles it to a bye for the 2nd round of playoffs, on account of its 1st rank in the division championship, as well as Halifax (Maritimes) and Rouyn-Noranda (West).
Sidney Crosby was preferred to both his trio teammates, Marc-Antoine Pouliot (3-6-2-8) and Dany Roussin (3-5-3-8), as well as to Guillaume Latendresse, from the Voltigeurs de Drummondville (3-3-5-8).

Finally, on Sunday, in Cape Breton, in a tie 3 3, Duchesne was again given the 2nd star of the game for his brilliant performance as he stopped 35 shots, when his own team shot only 22 times against the other goaltender.
