Screaming Eagles Announce Additional Cuts
Sydney – The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles announced today that nine players have been cut from their training camp roster including 1 goaltender, 2 defensemen, and 6 forwards.
The goaltender is Francis Mayer. Mayer is a 2011 5th round draft pick who played one game with the Screaming Eagles last season. The defensemen include Billy Hartley and David Bergeron. Hartley played two games with the Screaming Eagles last season.
The forwards include Damon MacDonald, Sebastian Lemieux, Avery Clarke, Alexander Snow, Danick Gaudreau, and Danny Potvin. Potvin is a 2006 6th round draft pick by the Shawinigan Cataractes who came to Cape Breton during the 2010-2011 season and played 90 games with the Screaming Eagles.
The Screaming Eagles training camp roster now sits at 30 players. The Screaming Eagles next exhibition game is Friday, September 7th against the Halifax Mooseheads at 7pm at the Emera Centre in North Sydney.
