Moose Keep Rolling in Val-d’Or
Darcy Ashley opened the scoring on a slick pass from Jonathan Drouin. Guillaume Gelinas drew Val-D’Or even on the powerplay shortly after Ashley’s goal. Jonathan Drouin would send the Moose to the room with a 2-1 lead after a nice goal cutting through the slot. The Foreurs outshot the Moose 14-10 after 20 minutes.
Luca Ciampini was the only goalscorer in the 2nd, potting his 3rd of the year. Ashley and Drouin would collect assists, their third points of the night.
Val-D’Or’s Sam Henley pulled the Foreurs within 1 with a goal to make it 3-2 Moose with 7 min to play. Jonathan Drouin would put the win in the books with an empty net goal after a big penalty kill in the final 3 minutes of the game. Drouin finished with 2 goals and 2 assists. Kevin Darveau was very good in goal making 39 saves for the win. The Foreuers outshot the Moose 41-26.
The Mooseheads now return home for DND Appreciation Night this Friday, November 8th when the Moncton Wildcats visit the Metro Centre for an 8pm puck drop.
