Martineau suspended until further notice
The Director of Player Safety of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Raymond Bolduc, announced today that player Phélix Martineau, of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, is suspended until further notice for having removed another player’s helmet during an altercation resulting in injury. The incident will be studied further before a final decision is rendered.
In addition, head coaches Darren Rumble and Marc-André Dumont receive a one-game suspension and their organizations are each fined $ 2,000 for inappropriate behaviour during the game.
The Director of Player Safety will be able to take his final decision once he has viewed the videos of the incident, taken into consideration the medical report, spoken to the players and organisations involved and after consulting the disciplinary committee.
