Lewiston MAINEiacs fined; head coach suspended for one game
BOUCHERVILLE, Friday, February 22, 2008 The Commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Gilles Courteau, today imposed a $1,000 fine to the Lewiston MAINEiacs organization as well as suspended their head coach, Ed Harding, for next Sunday’s game against the Saint John Sea Dogs.
The fine and the suspension are the result of Mr. Harding’s inappropriate behaviour towards League officials following last Saturday’s game between the MAINEiacs and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at Androscoggin Bank Colisée.
The decision was rendered after consulting all concerned parties.
In accordance with the QMJHL policy in the matter of disciplinary sanctions, there will be no further comment.
