Guillaume Asselin suspended two games
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Disciplinary Prefect, Raymond Bolduc, today suspended Chicoutimi Saguenéens forward Guillaume Asselin for two games for inappropriate comments which were directed towards Mikaël Tam in the heat of the moment during yesterday’s game.
Moreover, the organization has been fined $500. Finally, a formal apology will be extended to Mikaël Tam from Guillaume Asselin.
“The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League created an antidiscrimination policy in December of 2006 in order to ban all forms of discrimination,” said League Commissioner Gilles Courteau. “Our policy is based on the principle of zero tolerance and it applies to all comments which are deemed inappropriate. All of our participants must be treated with respect and dignity.”
