Genesse and Russo are the players of the week
The Québec Major Junior Hockey League announced its offensive and defensive players of the week for the period from Monday November 18 to Sunday November 24, 2002.
Right-winger from the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, Benoit Genesse, is the offensive player of the week in the QMJHL. In only 2 games, he scored 3 goals and got 3 assists for 6 points and +3.
He did very well in the game against the Montreal Rocket last Wednesday, November 20th at the Dave-Keon Arena. During the game, he scored 2 goals and added 2 assists, included one on the winning goal scored in overtime by Jonathan Gagnon. The huskies won 4-3 over the Rocket and gave a first victory to their new Head-Coach André Tourigny. Last Friday, in a 9-3 victory over the Rimouski Océanic, Genesse scored his 10th of the season and got 1 assist in the first period.
Finally, Benoit Genesse is at the 5th rank of the scorers in the QMJHL with a total of 39 points. The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies are at the 6th rank of the Robert-LeBel Conference with 24 points in 27 games this season. The Huskies will host the Hull Olympiques on this Wednesday, November 27, at 7:30 pm.

The defensive player of the week in the QMJHL is the talented goaltender of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Adam Russo. At his last 3 starts, Russo got 3 wins and preserved a 1.63 goals-against average and a .941 efficiency rating.
Adam Russo did very well against the Mooseheads in Halifax on Friday, November 22 before 7677 fans. In a 2-1 win over the Mooseheads, Russo did 35 saves. He got his 3rd shutout of the season against the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Tuesday, November 19. The Titan won 7-0 and Russo did 21 saves. Yesterday afternoon the Moncton Wildcats were at the K.C. Irving Centre in Bathurst. Adam did 23 saves and the Titan won 5-4 in overtime.
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan got 7 points at their last 4 games. They are now at the first rank of the Atlantique Division with the Halifax Mooseheads; they have 37 points each. Bathurst will play its next game on the road this Friday, November 29 at 8:00 pm against the Cataractes in Shawinigan.
