The Halifax Mooseheads have a long bus ride home tonight, but they’ll enjoy it a lot more now after the week they just had. The Herd picked up another win in Val-d’Or, their 3rd win in 4 nights all on the road, to improve their overall record to 12-5.
The Herd came out with a strong 1st period to take a 3-0 lead on goals from Alex Cote, Nathan MacKinnon, and Gabe Desjardins. The Mooseheads would jump out to a 4-0 lead early in the 2nd as Trey Lewis and Luca Ciampini hooked up on a nice give-and-go passing play. The Foreurs would get on the board midway through the 2nd but a Cameron Critchlow goal would be a back-breaker 5 minutes into the 3rd period which was followed by some big saves by rookie Zach Fucale to weather the Foreurs final push. Fucale made 28 saves picking up his 7th win of the season.
Next up for the Herd is DND Appreciation Night next Friday, November 4th at the Metro Centre vs the Moncton Wildcats at 7pm.
