Official Marc Muylaert announces his retirement from the QMJHL
Today, we honour an official who has left his mark on the history of the QMJHL, and whose career spanned 27 years.
We are proud to highlight the remarkable work of Marc Muylaert, who made his QMJHL officiating debut during the 1996-1997 season before ending his 27-year career back on January 29.
Over the course of his long career, Marc worked in 1,005 regular season games and an additional 169 playoff matchups, for a grand total of 1,174 games in the league.
The now 49-year-old took part in the postseason of 23 different campaigns, including six appearances in the final championship series.
The Montreal native was also selected for two editions of the Memorial Cup tournament, two games in the Canada-Russia Series, and one QMJHL Winter Classic. Muylaert has also taken part in numerous international competitions organized by the IIHF.
In recognition of his career and contributions to the league, Marc Muylaert was presented with an honorary frame during the 2023 QMJHL Entry Draft presented by Fenplast last weekend in Sherbrooke, QC.
Congratulations once again Marc, and best of luck in all your future endeavors!
