By the Numbers | Patrick Roy among the greatest coaches in QMJHL history
Patrick Roy has announced his resignation as head coach of the Quebec Remparts. The man who held the dual position of head coach and general manager of the franchise will undoubtedly have left his mark on the QMJHL.
The Quebec City native leaves the organization with a Gilles-Courteau Trophy (2023) championship, as well as two Memorial Cup titles (2006, 2023) to his name. Roy was also named General Manager of the Year in 2022 and was inducted into the QMJHL Hall of Fame in 2004.
In the end, Patrick Roy will have stood behind the Remparts bench for a total of 982 games, during two different reigns; he made his debut during the 2005-06 season before leaving for the Colorado Avalanche in 2012-13, then made a return for the 2018-19 campaign until retiring at the end of the 2022-23 season.
